Motorola Tablet: Running Android 3.0 (Honeycomb)?

Breaking News: Google just released an Android 3.0 honeycomb video. The video is private so we can't see it yet, but BGR has a screenshot. It looks beautiful!

The tablet market just got interesting. If you're currently shopping for one, it may help to wait a bit longer. In the YouTube video released today (below), Motorola mocks competitors (Samsung Tab and the Apple iPad) for not having an optimized operating system, which are both made for smartphones. The setting of the teaser takes place in a museum, where old and current tablets are archaically displayed. Pay attention to the insect hovering over the Moto logo in the end. Looks like they'll be creating some buzz at CES. Here are the rumored specs:
* 1.0 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM
* 10 inch multitouch screen, 1280 x 760 resolution
* Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G
* Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system

Vizio Back Again: VIA Tablet and Smartphone running Android

Another thing to look forward to CES Jan 6-9 2011 is Vizio's launch of the VIA Tablet and Smartphone, say the folks at BGR.

The last time Vizio did a 'first', was to release a high quality - high value Television set. I remember telling some friends about this company Vizio and how good their TV was and everyone I knew got one. The rest is history. Vizio both took a fair market share and lifted total category dollars, making it easier for people to trade up and buy a flat panel television.

Tablets are nice toys; smartphones are becoming our next necessity. Let's see how these devices standout at CES and if they're capable of repeating history, resulting in increased tablet and smartphone adoption globally.

HC EVO 4G Shift = Droid Incredible + Epic 4G

BGR just sent out a blast about the revelation of the latest HTC 4G phone with a slide our qwerty. To us it looks like Droid Incredible and Epic 4g have been mashed up to create this phone.

Of course no AMOLED screen but it has 4g and a slide out keyboard. Ian and I are both EVO users -- swype's really great but it isn't like using a keyboard. The Droid Incredible had a great screen size and snappy performance. Walmart Wireless has it here.

Nexus S With Gingerbread: The Latest Specs

It's 100% Google.  No need to run a 3rd party skin, or user-interface, like HTC Sense or TouchWiz.  The phone comes complete with it's own improved interface built into it's newest and fastest version of Android (2.3 aka Gingerbread).  Unlike the original Nexus manufactured by HTC, Google recruited Samsung this time around to build the uniquely curved smartphone.  Armed with an improved front and rear camera to take vibrant photos and video, a 480x800 AMOLED screen to display exceptional color, brightness and contrast, NFC capabilities to wirelessly transfer secure (payment/credit card) information, and, of course, Gingerbread, it comes very close to being the complete package.  While the screen resolution is not quite as high as Apple iPhone 4's retina display, we still prefer it due to it's amazing AMOLED screen (as opposed to Apple's Super LCD IPS).  We still don't know where Google will take us in regard to NFC (near field communications), but whatever it is this phone will be ready for it.  We were hoping to see the dual-core processor and 4G with the Nexus S, but unfortunately Google seemed to be in a rush to get this out to the market.
